What is peppermint oil and what is it used for?
Peppermint oil is an antispasmodic that is used to relieve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome such as painful spasms and bloating that occurs in the intestines between the navel and the groin and sides. Peppermint oil works by relaxing spasm in your intestines, which helps reduce pain and pushes pockets of gas through the intestines and out of the body, thus reducing bloating. The signs and symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome may be more noticeable when you're feeling anxious and stressed.
