Cymbatex 60 mg 30 capsules:

Duloxetine 60 mg is an antidepressant belonging to the serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) group. It works by increasing serotonin and norepinephrine levels in the brain, helping to improve mood and reduce anxiety, and also contributes to relieving certain types of chronic pain, such as nerve pain associated with diabetes and fibromyalgia.

Uses:

  • Treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD).
  • Treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).
  • Treatment of fibromyalgia.
  • Treatment of nerve pain caused by diabetic neuropathy.
  • Treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain.
  • May be used in some cases to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social phobia, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and stress urinary incontinence, according to the doctor's assessment.

Usage instructions:

  • The usual dose is one capsule once daily or as directed by the doctor.
  • The medication can be taken with or without food.
  • Swallow the capsule whole without opening, crushing, or chewing it.
  • Improvement may begin within a week, while reaching full therapeutic effect may require 2–4 weeks or more.
  • Do not stop the medication suddenly; it should be tapered off gradually under medical supervision to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

Drug interactions:

Duloxetine may interact with some medications, including:

  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), which must not be used concurrently.
  • Other antidepressants and drugs that increase serotonin, such as SSRIs, SNRIs, tramadol, and triptans, due to increased risk of serotonin syndrome.
  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), aspirin, and anticoagulants like warfarin, as they may increase bleeding risk.
  • Certain antibiotics and antifungals that affect liver enzymes.
  • Alcohol, as it may increase the risk of liver damage and drowsiness.

Contraindications:

  • Concurrent use with MAO enzyme inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping them.
  • Severe liver disease or hepatic insufficiency.
  • Severe renal failure.

  • May cause dizziness or drowsiness, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery.
  • May cause high blood pressure, so regular blood pressure monitoring is advised.
  • Do not stop treatment abruptly to avoid withdrawal symptoms such as dizziness, headache, and irritability.
