Duotrav Eye Drop 2.5 ml :

Eye drop solution containing Travoprost 40 micrograms/ml and Timolol 5 mg/ml.

What is the use of Travoprost/Timolol:

This product consists of two active ingredients; Travoprost and Timolol. Travoprost is a medicine belonging to a group called "prostaglandin analogues."

Timolol is a medicine belonging to a group known as "beta blockers." Both active ingredients help reduce eye pressure.

This product works by lowering eye pressure by enhancing the drainage of the clear fluid accumulated in your eye, which must be drained and replaced regularly with new fluid.

This product also helps reduce the amount of this fluid produced.

Increased eye pressure may lead to glaucoma if not properly treated.

This product is used for patients (including the elderly) who suffer from high eye pressure.

Do not use Travoprost/Timolol:

If you are allergic to Travoprost, other prostaglandin analogues, Timolol, other beta blockers, or any of the ingredients of this medicine. Inform your doctor about any allergies and symptoms you have.

If you currently have or have previously had respiratory problems such as asthma or severe chronic obstructive bronchitis (a serious lung disease that may cause difficulty breathing and wheezing).

If you have heart problems such as heart failure (the heart muscle cannot pump properly), slow heart rate, or irregular heartbeat.

If you suffer from severe hay fever (nasal allergy).

If the surface of your eye is cloudy.

Warnings and precautions:

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you experience an allergic reaction such as shortness of breath, rash, swelling of the face or neck.

Consult your doctor before starting this medicine if you have heart problems such as coronary heart disease (symptoms include difficulty breathing and chest pain or tightness), heart failure (symptoms may include shortness of breath, swelling of limbs and abdomen, and fatigue), low blood pressure, changes in heart rate (such as slow heart rate); respiratory problems such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; poor circulation problems (such as Raynaud’s disease), overactive thyroid, diabetes, severe allergies, and myasthenia gravis (chronic neuromuscular weakness).

Make sure to inform your doctor if you have eye inflammation.

Make sure to inform your doctor if you will undergo surgery. Timolol may affect some medicines used during anesthesia in certain surgeries.

If you experience any severe allergic reaction (redness and itching in the eye, rash) while using this medicine, adrenaline treatment may not be as effective. Therefore, be sure to inform your doctor that you are using this medicine before receiving any treatment regardless of the cause of the allergy.

This medicine may be absorbed through your skin.

Be sure to avoid contact of the drop with your skin. If this happens, wash your skin immediately, especially if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

This medicine may cause changes in the color of your eyes and eyelashes, as well as their growth, length, thickness, color, direction, and number.

Once you stop using this medicine, the change in your eye color is expected to be permanent, unlike the eyelashes and the area around the eyes, which are expected to return to their original color.

If you use more than one eye drop solution, make sure to use each with at least a five-minute interval.

Be sure to remove contact lenses before applying the eye drop. You can wear contact lenses again at least 15 minutes after applying the eye drop.

This product contains hydrogenated castor oil and propylene glycol, which may cause skin irritation and reactions.

Avoid touching the tip of the eye drop bottle to the eye to prevent bacterial contamination.
