Glemax 4 mg tablets belong to oral diabetes medications.
How to make Glimepride:
- Like all sulfonylureas, glimepiride acts as a secretagogue for insulin secretion. It lowers blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells and by stimulating increased activity of insulin receptors within cells.
Uses of Glemax 4 mg Tablets:
- Glimipride is used to lower blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes (non-insulin dependent). It is used when diet and exercise alone fail to control diabetes.
How to use Glemax 4 mg tablets:
- This medicine is intended for adults only.
- Take it as directed by your doctor.
- Take with food, with the first meal of the day.
- Take the tablet whole. Do not break, crush, or chew the tablet.
- "It is important to follow the diet and exercise plan set by your doctor."
- The usual starting dose is one tablet of 1 mg once daily with breakfast. Your doctor may gradually increase it to a maximum of 8 mg per day.
