Lodipam 5 mg, reduces blood pressure, and protects against complications of high blood pressure - 30 tablets.
How to use Amlodipine:
- Amlodipine prevents the flow of calcium ions into cells, with a greater effect on the smooth muscle cells in blood vessels, leading to vasodilation and reduced vascular resistance to blood flow, thereby lowering blood pressure.
Medical uses of Lodipam 5 mg tablets:
- To treat patients suffering from high blood pressure: High blood pressure is a common condition in which the long-term pressure of the blood against the artery walls is high enough that it may eventually cause health problems, such as heart disease.
- To treat patients suffering from coronary artery diseases (stable and chronic angina, angina caused by sudden contraction of the arteries)
How to use Lodipam 5 mg tablets:
- Take the medicine as your doctor or pharmacist explained to you.
- Take the medicine with a glass of water.
- If you are taking this medication once a day, take it in the morning.
- The recommended dose for adults: 5 mg once daily, with a maximum of 10 mg once daily.
- Small and weak patients, the elderly, or patients with liver failure can start with a dose of 2.5 mg once daily.
- Dosage for children: 2.5 mg to 5 mg once daily
- Dosages can be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you are taking more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital immediately.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is time for the next dose.
Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.
Warnings and precautions:
- It is possible for hypotension to occur with symptoms. However, due to the gradual onset of the medication, acute hypotension is unlikely to occur.
- Worsening of angina and acute myocardial infarction can develop after starting or increasing a dose of amlodipine, especially in patients with acute coronary artery obstruction.
- Increase the dose slowly for patients with severe liver failure.
- Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medications you are taking, including those you use without a prescription, before starting to use Amlodipine.
Specific side effects:
- The most common side effects are headaches and swellings that occur in a dose-dependent manner.
- Other side effects that are not dose-dependent but have been reported include fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, and drowsiness.
