Nicotinell 10 mg 7 patches

This medicinal product is used to help people stop smoking.
It counteracts smoking relapse in smokers who are motivated to quit smoking.
Do not use nicotine:

If you are allergic to nitrofurantoin, other medicines containing nitrofurantoin, or any of the If you are allergic to nicotine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
If you are a non-smoker.
If you are under 12 years old.
Warnings and Precautions:

Talk to your doctor before taking nicotine
If you have any heart problems such as a recent heart attack, or have heart rhythm problems, heart failure, or chest pain (angina pectoris, including Prinzmetal's angina).
if you have had a 'stroke' (cerebrovascular accident).
If you suffer from high blood pressure.
If you have circulatory problems.
if you suffer from diabetes.
If you have an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism), overactive adrenal glands (pheochromocytoma).
If you suffer from kidney or liver disease.
If you suffer from esophagitis, inflammation of the mouth or throat, gastritis or peptic ulcer.
if you have a history of epilepsy (seizures).
Possible side effects:

Nausea
sore throat
swelling
Other medicines and nicotine:

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
If you stop smoking and if you are using other medicines, your doctor may want to adjust your dose. No information is available on interactions between nicotine lozenge and other medications. However, apart from nicotine, other substances in cigarettes may have an effect on some medications.
Stopping smoking can affect the way some medicines work, such as:
theophylline (a medicine used to treat bronchial asthma)
tacrine (a drug used to treat Alzheimer's disease)
olanzapine and clozapine (for schizophrenia)
The dose of insulin (medicines used to treat diabetes) may need to be adjusted.
How to store nicotine:

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not store above 25°C.
Store the medicine in its original package. Protect from moisture and light.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on each of the outer cartons. The expiration date refers to the last day of the same month.
Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater or household waste.
