Olopat eye drops 30 single doses 0.4 ml:

Olopatadine eye drops are a medicine to treat and control eye allergies. It works in two different ways by reducing and controlling the severity of the allergic reaction.

Olopatadine eye drops are used to treat eye itching associated with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis. Allergic conjunctivitis: Certain substances (allergens) such as pollen, house dust, or animal fur may cause allergic reactions that lead to itching, redness, and swelling of the surface of the eye.

Do not use olopatadine eye drops if:

• You should not use olopatadine eye drops if you are allergic to olopatadine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients.
  
• Do not use olopatadine eye drops in children under 16 years of age.

How to use olopatadine eye drops:

• Olopatadine eye drops is an eye drop. Use it only in your eyes.
  
• If you are using other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes before applying olopatadine eye drops and other eye drops. If you are using an eye ointment, you should apply it last.
• Usual adult dose: One drop in each affected eye once daily.

Instructions for use:

1. Bring a bottle of olopatadine eye drops and a mirror if needed.
   
2. Wash your hands.
3. Twist the cap, being careful not to touch the dropper tip.
4.  Hold the bottle face down between your thumb and middle finger.
5. Tilt your head back. Pull your eyelid down with a clean finger until there is a "pocket" between the eyelid and the eye where the drops will go.
6.  Close the tip of the bottle to the eye. Use a mirror if it helps. Do not touch your eye, eyelid, or any surface with the dropper. The drops can become contaminated and cause eye inflammation and damage to the eyes.
7. Gently tap the bottom of the bottle with your finger to release 1 drop. Don't squeeze the bottle: it's designed so that all you need to do is gently squeeze the bottom.
8. If you are using the drops in both eyes, repeat the steps with the other eye.
9. Place the bottle cap tightly back on immediately after use.

Warnings and precautions:

• Before using olopatadine eye drops, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
• Do not wear contact lenses if your eyes are red.
• Olopatadine eye drops contain a preservative, benzalkonium chloride, which may cause eye irritation and has been known to discolor soft contact lenses. Do not use drops while wearing contact lenses.
• Remove contact lenses before applying olopatadine eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting contact lenses back on.

Possible side effects:

A small number of people using olopatadine eye drops may experience side effects. They can be annoying, but most go away quickly. You can usually keep using the drops, unless the effects are serious. If you are worried, talk to a doctor or pharmacist. Side effects may include:

• Dry, itchy, red, irritated or peeling eyes.
• Inflammation of the surface of the eye.

• A burning, stinging, or gritty feeling.
• Headache.

• Please tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, even products you have bought yourself without a prescription or natural health products.
  
• There are no known medications that interact with olopatadine eye drops.
