Regulon 21 tablets

• These low-dose contraceptives contain two types of female sex hormones, estrogen and progesterone.
•  These hormones prevent the release of an egg from the ovaries so that you do not get pregnant.
•  It also makes the fluid (mucus) in the cervix thicker, making it more difficult for sperm to enter the uterus.
• In addition, androgens stimulate hair growth and sebaceous glands in your skin. Blocking their effect reduces oil production, acne and hair growth.

• It does not interrupt sex.
• It usually makes the menstrual cycle regular, lighter and less painful.
• It may help treat premenstrual symptoms.
• Desogestrel, ethinyl estradiol will not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases, such as chlamydia or HIV. Only condoms can help do this.
• Desogestrel and ethinyl estradiol should be taken as directed to prevent pregnancy.

How to use Regulon tablets:

• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you.
• Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is:
• The tablets should be taken every day at around the same time so that the interval between two tablets is always 24 hours.
• Take it every day for 21 days.
• It comes in strips of 21 tablets, each marked with the day of the week.
• Start taking birth control pills marked with the correct day of the week.
• Follow the direction of the arrows on the tape.
• Take one tablet every day, until you have used all 21 tablets.

Warnings and precautions:

• If you have high levels of fats in your blood (hyperlipidemia) or a positive family history of this condition.
• If you suffer from diabetes.
• If you've just given birth, you're at increased risk of blood clots.
• If you have inflammation of the veins under the skin (superficial thrombophlebitis)
• If you have varicose veins.
• If you suffer from epilepsy.
• If you suffer from systemic lupus erythematosus.
• If you suffer from hemolytic uremic syndrome.
• If a close relative has or has had breast cancer.
• If you suffer from sickle cell anemia.
• If you suffer from liver or gallbladder disease.
• If you suffer from depression.
• If you have Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis (chronic inflammatory bowel disease).
