Salmeterol is a long-acting bronchodilator that widens the airways so that the passage of air into the lungs is improved.
The effect occurs after 10-20 minutes and lasts for at least 12 hours.
Fluticasone propionate is a corticosteroid that combats mucus formation and swelling in the bronchi.
This makes breathing easier, and if used regularly, symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) will be reduced.
The effect on inflammation occurs after 4-7 days.
Salmeterol propionate/fluticasone is used to treat asthma and COPD when you need both cortisone and a medication that provides long-term dilation of the bronchial tubes.

Warnings and precautions:
Do not stop taking this medication on your own unless your doctor advises you to do so.
Before taking fluticasone/salmeterol, tell your doctor if you have a history of heart, liver, or kidney disease, hyperadrenalism (high cortisol levels), eye disorders such as cataracts, glaucoma, atrophy (seizures), osteoporosis (weak, brittle bones), and diabetes.
Fluticasone/salmeterol causes hypokalemia (low blood potassium levels), so it should be used with caution in patients with hypokalemia to prevent any cardiovascular effects.
Special precautions should be taken in patients with fungal, bacterial, parasitic, or viral infections and tuberculosis because nasal or inhaled corticosteroids such as fluticasone can cause secondary infections.
Fluticasone/salmeterol can cause high blood glucose levels. Then monitor your blood glucose levels regularly if you have diabetes.
Please tell your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant or are already pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience drowsiness and increased/irregular heartbeat while using fluticasone/salmeterol.
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medication because it may worsen side effects.
