Organic black quinoa.
Rinse the quinoa under running cold water, then bring out its nutty side by quickly toasting it in a pan.
For one and a half cups of quinoa, heat one tablespoon of a neutral oil, such as canola oil, in a pan over medium to low heat.
Stir continuously for about 6-8 minutes to prevent burning.
Pour two cups of cold water or broth for every one cup of quinoa used.
Let the liquid come to a boil.
Stir the quinoa, then reduce the heat to low.
Cover the pot and let it simmer until all the liquid is absorbed, about 15 minutes.
Use a fork to fluff the quinoa and separate the grains.
Add quinoa to salads or soups, or use it as a rice substitute in cooked dishes.
