Tiotropium (bromide monohydrate) inhalation powder, hard capsules 18 mcg.
What is the use of tiotropium:
- Tiotropium is a medication that belongs to a class known as “long-acting bronchodilators.”
- It works by opening your airways allowing air to enter and exit more easily into your lungs.
- It is used to help patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) breathe more easily.

How to take tiotropium:
- The usual recommended dose is to inhale the contents of one capsule (18 mcg of tiotropium) once daily. Do not take more than the recommended dose.
- Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- This medication is not recommended for children and teenagers under 18 years of age.
- The effect of this medication lasts for 24 hours, so make sure to take your dose at the same time each day.
- The capsules are intended for inhalation only using the device supplied with the medicine (Handyhaler). Do not swallow the capsules.

- Do not blow into the inhaler.

Do not take tiotropium:
- If you are allergic to tiotropium, or any of the ingredients of this medication. Tell your doctor about your allergy and signs.
- If you are allergic to atropine or similar medicines (such as oxytropium or ipratropium).
Warnings and precautions:
- Stop taking the medicine immediately and talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you develop allergic reactions such as shortness of breath, rash, swelling of the face or neck, low blood pressure, or dizziness.
- Stop taking the medication immediately and talk to your doctor if you feel chest tightness, cough, difficulty breathing, or wheezing after inhaling your dose.

If this happens, wash your eyes with warm water right away, stop using the inhaler and talk to your doctor or eye specialist right away whenever you experience signs of an acute attack of narrow-angle glaucoma such as blurred vision, eye redness, eye pain or discomfort, or severe vision.
