Adapalene gel 0.1%.
Adapalene uses:
- It is used on the face, chest, or back to treat acne, where the skin may have a lot of blackheads, spots, and pimples.
Do not use adapalene:
- If you are pregnant.
- If you are planning to become pregnant.
- If you are allergic to adapalene or any of the other ingredients of this medication.
How to use adapalene:
- Adapalene is only used in adults and adolescents ages 12 years and older.
- This medicine is for external use only.
- Adapalene is used at night before going to bed
- Wash the areas to be treated well with water. Make sure the skin is clean and dry before using this medication.
- Apply a thin layer of ointment with your fingertips to the affected areas and rub gently.
- Don't forget to wash your hands afterward.
- How long to use this medication will depend on how quickly your acne improves.
Warnings and precautions:
- Do not use this medication on areas with cuts or scrapes, on sunburned skin, or if you have a skin condition called eczema.
- Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, or corners of the nose, and avoid other sensitive areas of the body.
- Avoid exposure to strong sunlight and artificial ultraviolet rays.
- If you experience allergy or irritation when using this medication, stop using it and tell your doctor.
Possible side effects:
- Dry skin.
- Skin irritation.
- Burning sensation in the skin.
- Redness of the skin (erythema).
:Other medicines and adapalene
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines
- Other acne products (containing benzoyl peroxide, erythromycin or clindamycin) can be used with adapalene but should be used in the morning and adapalene at night.
- Cosmetics can be used but should not cause blackheads or dry out the skin.
