Systane Ultra UD Eye Drops 0.7 ml 30 vials:
Uses of polyethylene glycol / propylene glycol in:
"Used for temporary relief of irritation and burning caused by dry eyes. It can also be used to treat dry eyes resulting from contact lens use. This product consists of preservative-free single doses."
Do not use polyethylene glycol / propylene glycol:
- If you are allergic to polyethylene glycol or propylene glycol or any of the components of this medication.
- If the product appears cloudy or changes color.
How to use polyethylene glycol / propylene glycol:
- The recommended dose is one or two drops in the affected eye(s) as needed.
- Wash your hands. Twist the top part of the single-dose vial.
- Tilt your head back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down to create a pocket. Place the bottle over your eye so that its tip is pointing down.
- Look up and away from the bottle, then press it to release a drop. Close your eyes for 2-3 minutes while tilting your head down, making sure not to blink.
- Press gently on the corner of your eye for about a minute.
- Wait for the drops for at least 5 minutes.
Warnings and precautions:
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting this medication if you are allergic to polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, or any of the ingredients in this medication.
- This medication is intended for external use only. Discontinue use and consult a doctor if you experience irritation or redness in the eye that worsens or persists for more than 72 hours.
- Stop using the medication and consult a doctor if you experience changes in vision or eye pain.
- If used for dry eyes caused by contact lenses, make sure to instill the drops before putting in the contact lenses and after removing them.
Possible side effects:
- Possible side effects include signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash and itching. Common side effects include blurred vision, mild eye irritation, and burning or stinging.
Other medications and polyethylene glycol / propylene glycol:
- Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken or might take any other medicines, including eye drops.
- If you are using more than one eye drop solution, make sure to administer each one at least five minutes apart to avoid eye drop overflow.
