Versatis 700 mg 5 Lidocaine Medical Patches:
Versatis patches contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic used to relieve various pains such as postherpetic pain or shingles.
How Versatis patches work:
- Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that causes temporary loss of sensation by blocking nerve signals in the area where the medication is applied, thereby relieving pain.
- Postherpetic neuralgia is one of the most common complications of shingles (a viral infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus, also known as "chickenpox," which causes a painful rash anywhere on the body but is more common on one side of the torso), affecting the skin and nerve fibers leading to burning pain that persists even after the blisters and rash from shingles have faded. Lidocaine is also used to relieve that pain.
Uses of Versatis:
- Helps stop itching and pain associated with some skin conditions like eczema, minor burns, sunburn, and insect bites.
- Anesthetizes a body area for a short duration such as injections, cystoscopy, colonoscopy, and before laser hair removal.
- Lidocaine topical cream works to relieve pain for patients with hemorrhoids and anal fissures.
How to use Versatis:
- Clean and dry the affected area before applying the medication. Then wash your hands well.
- Apply the medicine 2 to 3 times daily or as directed by the doctor.
- For external use only.
- Covering the affected area after applying the medicine is prohibited, and tight clothing and exposure to high heat sources, such as prolonged hot baths, should be avoided.
- Used only on intact skin.
- It is recommended to separate topical treatments by at least two hours.
