Xeractan 10 mg 30 capsules:

Uses of Xeractan:

• This medication is used to treat severe cystic acne (also known as nodular acne) that has not responded to other treatments (such as benzoyl peroxide or topical clindamycin or oral tetracycline or minocycline).
• It works by reducing the production of facial oil (sebum).

Instructions for use:

• Whole swallowing capsules without crushing.
• Isotretinoin is usually taken twice daily for 15-20 weeks, or as directed by a doctor.
• The guidelines for most general forms of isotretinoin indicate that it should be taken with meals.
• Food helps increase the absorption of this medication into the bloodstream.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
• Take this medicine with a full glass of water, and do not lie down for at least 10 minutes after taking it.
• The dosage depends on your medical condition, weight, and response to treatment.
• Your acne may worsen during the first few days of taking this medication, and it may take up to one to two months before you notice the full benefit of this medication.
• In the case of a return of severe acne, a second treatment course can be started after stopping the medication for two months.
• The manufacturer does not recommend the long-term use of isotretinoin.

• Do not donate blood while taking isotretinoin and for at least one month after stopping it.
• This medication may make you more sensitive to sunlight.
• Avoid tanning booths and sun lamps.
• Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when you are outdoors.
• Tell your doctor immediately if you get sunburn or have blisters/redness on your skin.
• Isotretinoin can affect your night vision.
• Do not drive or operate machinery or engage in any activity that requires clear vision after dark until you are sure you can perform these activities safely.
• If you wear contact lenses, you may not tolerate them as usual while using this medication.
• Avoid any cosmetic procedures to smooth your skin (for example, waxing, laser, dermabrasion) during isotretinoin treatment and for 6 months afterwards.
• Scarring may occur on the skin.
• Avoid using alcohol while taking this medication as it may increase the risk of certain side effects (such as pancreatitis).
• Limited information suggests that isotretinoin may cause some effects of bone loss.
• Engaging in sports that require contact or repetitive impact (such as football, basketball, soccer, and tennis) may lead to bone problems, including an increased risk of bone fractures.
