Xeractan 10 mg 30 capsules:

"Belongs to a class of drugs known as retinoids."

Uses of Xeractan:

  • This medication is used to treat severe cystic acne (also known as nodular acne) that has not responded to other treatments (such as benzoyl peroxide or topical clindamycin or oral tetracycline or minocycline).
  • It works by reducing the production of facial oil (sebum).

Instructions for use:

  • Whole swallowing capsules without crushing.
  • Isotretinoin is usually taken twice daily for 15-20 weeks, or as directed by a doctor.
  • The guidelines for most general forms of isotretinoin indicate that it should be taken with meals.
  • Food helps increase the absorption of this medication into the bloodstream.
  • Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
  • Take this medicine with a full glass of water, and do not lie down for at least 10 minutes after taking it.
  • The dosage depends on your medical condition, weight, and response to treatment.
  • Your acne may worsen during the first few days of taking this medication, and it may take up to one to two months before you notice the full benefit of this medication.

  • Do not drive or operate machinery or engage in any activity that requires clear vision after dark until you are sure you can perform these activities safely.
