Warnings and precautions:
Do not use Dapagliflozin/Metformin :
- If you are allergic to Dapagliflozin or Metformin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- Talk to your doctor before taking Dapagliflozin/Metformin if you think you are allergic to any of these substances.
- If you have uncontrolled diabetes with, for example, severe hyperglycemia (high blood sugar), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rapid weight loss, lactic acidosis (see "Risk of lactic acidosis" below) or ketoacidosis.
- Ketoacidosis is a condition where substances called ketone bodies build up in the blood, which can lead to diabetic coma.
- Symptoms include stomach pain, rapid and deep breathing, drowsiness, or breathing with an unusual fruity smell.
- If you have recently had a heart attack or suffer from heart failure, serious circulatory problems, or breathing problems, which may be signs of heart problems.
- If you have severe kidney impairment.
- If you have a serious infection or severe dehydration (loss of a lot of water from the body).
- If you are going to have contrast X-rays (a special type of X-ray involving an injectable dye).
- If you have liver problems.
- If you drink large amounts of alcohol (either daily or occasionally).
- If you are breastfeeding.
Possible side effects:
- Stomach pain (abdominal pain).
- Muscle cramps.
- General feeling of discomfort with severe fatigue.
- Breathing difficulties.
- Lowered body temperature and pulse.
