Dapagliflozin Eva 10 mg 30 tablets:

Dapagliflozin Eva 10 mg is an anti-diabetic medication containing dapagliflozin, belonging to the sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. It lowers blood sugar by increasing the excretion of excess glucose through urine, helping to improve blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes, alongside a healthy diet and physical activity.

Uses:

  • Improves blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.
  • Used alone or with other diabetes medications such as metformin, insulin, or sulfonylureas.
  • May help reduce the risk of certain heart and kidney complications in suitable patients, according to the doctor’s assessment.

Usage instructions:

  • The usual dose is one tablet (10 mg) once daily or as directed by the doctor.
  • The doctor may start with a 5 mg dose in some patients with liver problems.
  • Swallow the tablet whole with water; it can be taken with or without food.
  • It is preferable to take it at the same time daily.
  • Make sure to drink enough fluids during treatment to reduce the risk of dehydration.

Drug interactions:

Dapagliflozin may interact with some medications, including:

  • Diuretics, as they may increase the risk of dehydration and low blood pressure.
  • Insulin or sulfonylurea drugs, as they may increase the risk of low blood sugar and dose adjustment may be necessary.
  • Other blood pressure-lowering medications, as they may increase the likelihood of low blood pressure.
  • Inform your doctor of all medications and supplements you are taking before starting treatment.

Contraindications:

  • Allergy to dapagliflozin or any of the medication’s components.
  • Type 1 diabetes patients.
  • Diabetic ketoacidosis.
  • Severe kidney failure or dialysis patients, unless otherwise recommended by a doctor according to current guidelines.

Warnings and precautions:

  • See a doctor immediately if symptoms of diabetic ketoacidosis appear, such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, excessive thirst, rapid breathing, or unusual fatigue, even if blood sugar levels are normal.
  • The medication may increase the risk of dehydration and low blood pressure, especially in the elderly or patients taking diuretics.
  • May increase the risk of urinary tract infections or genital fungal infections.
  • Used with caution in patients with kidney or liver disease.
  • Not used during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless recommended by a doctor.

  • Increased urination.
  • Thirst.
