Augmentin 375 mg 20 Tablets

Scientific name: Amoxicillin/Clavulanic Acid Tablets 375 mg.

Uses:

It is an antibiotic used in adults and children to treat the following infections:

• Middle ear and sinus infections.
• Respiratory infections.
• Urinary tract infections.
• Skin and soft tissue infections including dental infections.
• Bone and joint infections.

How to use:

• Adults and children weighing 40 kg and over The usual dose is: one tablet three times a day.
• Children aged 6 years or younger should preferably be treated with amoxicillin  clavulanic acid oral suspension or sachets.
• Take with meal.
• Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water.

Side effects:

• Allergies.
• Convulsions (seizures).
• Inflammation of the large intestine.

Warnings and precautions:

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking amoxicillin/clavulanic acid if you:

• He has glandular fever.
• You are being treated for liver or kidney problems.
• Do not pass water regularly.

Do not take if:

• If you are allergic to amoxicillin, clavulanic acid, penicillin, or any of the other ingredients of this medication.
• If you have ever had a severe allergic reaction to any other antibiotic. This could include a rash or swelling of the face or throat.
• If you have ever had liver problems or jaundice (yellowing of the skin) when taking an antibiotic.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking:

• If you are taking allopurinol.
• If you are taking probenecid.
• If you are taking medicines to help stop blood clotting (such as warfarin).

Preservation method:

• Do not store above 25°C.
• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
• The tablets supplied in the pouches must be used within 30 days of opening the pouch.
• Keep the medicine in the original packaging to protect from moisture.
• Do not use if tablets are broken or damaged.
• Do not dispose of any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton.
