Zinoximor 250 mg 14 tablets:
Zinoximor 250 mg tablets belong to antibacterial medicines.
How zinoximor-cefuroxime works:
- Cefuroxime is a cephalosporin taken orally. Like penicillin, it is a beta-lactam antibiotic. It works by binding to certain proteins found within the bacterial cell wall and thus prevents the formation of the bacterial cell wall.
- Without a cell wall, the bacterial cell is vulnerable to external water and external pressures, which causes the bacteria to quickly die.
Zinoximor uses:
Cefuroxime is used to treat infections of:
- Throat, sinuses and middle ear.
- Lungs or chest.
- Urinary Tract.
- Skin and soft tissues.
- Cefuroxime may also be used to treat Lyme disease (an infection spread by parasites called ticks).
How to use Zinoximor:
- Take cefuroxime after food, as this will help make the treatment more effective.
- The recommended dose of cefuroxime is 250 mg to 500 mg twice daily depending on the severity and type of infection.
- Children: The recommended dose of cefuroxime is 10 mg/kg (maximum 125 mg) to 15 mg/kg (maximum 250 mg) twice daily depending on the severity and type of infection.
- Cefuroxime is not recommended for use in children younger than 3 months, as safety and effectiveness are not known in this age group.
- Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more medicine than you should, talk to your doctor or go to hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.
Warnings and precautions:
- Cefuroxime can affect the results of a test for blood sugar levels, or a blood test called a Coombs test.
- Tell your doctor if you have a history of colitis, kidney failure, or seizure disorders.
- Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines, including nonprescription medicines, prescription drugs, herbal supplements, vitamins, and nutritional supplements.
