Augmentin 375 mg 20 Tablets
Scientific name: Amoxicillin/Clavulanic Acid Tablets 375 mg.
Uses:
It is an antibiotic used in adults and children to treat the following infections:
- Middle ear and sinus infections.
- Respiratory infections.
- Urinary tract infections.
- Skin and soft tissue infections including dental infections.
- Bone and joint infections.
How to use:
- Adults and children weighing 40 kg and over The usual dose is: one tablet three times a day.
- Children aged 6 years or younger should preferably be treated with amoxicillin clavulanic acid oral suspension or sachets.
- Take with meal.
- Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water.
Side effects:
- Allergies.
- Convulsions (seizures).
- Inflammation of the large intestine.
Warnings and precautions:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking amoxicillin/clavulanic acid if you:
- He has glandular fever.
- You are being treated for liver or kidney problems.
- Do not pass water regularly.
Do not take if:
- If you are allergic to amoxicillin, clavulanic acid, penicillin, or any of the other ingredients of this medication.
- If you have ever had a severe allergic reaction to any other antibiotic. This could include a rash or swelling of the face or throat.
- If you have ever had liver problems or jaundice (yellowing of the skin) when taking an antibiotic.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking:
- If you are taking allopurinol.
- If you are taking probenecid.
- If you are taking medicines to help stop blood clotting (such as warfarin).
Preservation method:
- Do not store above 25°C.
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- The tablets supplied in the pouches must be used within 30 days of opening the pouch.
- Keep the medicine in the original packaging to protect from moisture.
- Do not use if tablets are broken or damaged.
- Do not dispose of any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton.
