Scientific name: Pioglitazone 30 mg + glimepiride 4 mg tablets.

Uses:

• It is used to lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes (non-insulin dependent). It is used when diet and exercise alone fail to control diabetes.

How to use:

• Initial dose: pioglitazone 30 mg-glimepiride 2 mg or pioglitazone 30 mg-glimepiride 4 mg orally once a day.
• Maintenance dosage: Titrate dosage gradually based on adequacy of therapeutic response and tolerability of each component.
• Take it with the first meal of the day.

Side effects:

• lack of blood sugar.
• overweight.
• Headache.
• Myalgia.
• Anxiety.
• depression.
• Rapid heartbeat.
• Nausea and diarrhea.
• Cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sinus pain, sneezing, and sore throat.

Warnings and precautions:

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking pioglitazone/glimepiride if you have ever had:

• Congestive heart failure or heart disease.
• Fluid retention.
• Bladder Cancer.
• Liver disease.
• Kidney disease.
• A hereditary enzyme deficiency called glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.
• Eye problems caused by diabetes.
• Heart attack or stroke.

Preservation method:

• Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
• Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat and light.
• Keep bottle tightly closed when not in use.
• Store pioglitazone/glimepiride at 59 to 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C).
• Keep it in the original container to protect it from light.
