Zithromax 300 mg/7.5 ml 22.5 ml Suspension:

• The recommended doses and durations of treatment for adult and pediatric patients differ for these indications.

• This medication will not work for viral infections (such as colds, flu).
• Unnecessary use or misuse of any antibiotic can decrease its effectiveness.

Instructions for use:

To treat pneumonia:

Children weighing 34 kg or more:

• Dosage is based on body weight and must be determined by your doctor.
• The dose is usually 2 grams once a day taken as a single dose.

Children 6 months and older weighing less than 34 kg:

• Dosage is based on body weight and must be determined by your doctor.
• The dose is usually 60 milligrams per kilogram of body weight once a day, taken as a single dose.

To treat sinusitis:

To treat infections:

Children 6 months and older:

• The dosage is usually 10 to 30 milligrams (mg) per kilogram (kg) of body weight once daily, taken as a single dose.

Warnings and precautions :

• Shake the suspension well before use.
• Measure the dose carefully using a special measuring device/spoon.
• Do not use a household spoon because you may not get the correct dose.
• If your child vomits the 1-day dose within 30 minutes, call your doctor to see if you need to repeat the dose.
• If you are taking an antacid that contains aluminum or magnesium, wait at least 2 hours before or after taking azithromycin.
