If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Inform your doctor about all your health conditions, including:
If you will be exposed to strong sunlight or ultraviolet rays.
If you suffer from myasthenia gravis.
If you have liver or kidney problems.
If you have systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
If you have porphyria, a blood disorder.
If you have severe diarrhea after using antibiotics for long periods.
Taking this medicine for longer than recommended may cause a secondary infection.
Stop using this product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop a rash; itching; red, blistered, or peeling skin; chest or throat tightness; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
The frequency of these side effects is unknown.
Contact your doctor if you experience:
Bloody diarrhea.
Fever, swollen lymph nodes, or rash.
Severe headache possibly accompanied by visual disturbances such as blurred vision, double vision, or loss of vision.
Other medications and doxycycline
Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking, especially:
Antacids
Anti-epileptic drugs (seizure medications)
Warfarin
Oral contraceptives
Retinoids
This medicine is not recommended for children under 8 years old.
Take this medicine as directed by your doctor.
Take this medicine with a full glass of water.
If it causes stomach upset, take it with food.
The usual dose is 100-200 mg daily depending on the infection.
