Klacid 125 mg suspension 100 ml:
- Clarithromycin belongs to a class of medications called macrolide antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
- Clarithromycin prevents bacteria from multiplying by acting as an inhibitor of protein synthesis.
Clarithromycin uses:
- Throat infections (pharyngitis/tonsillitis).
- Respiratory infections: sinus infections, bronchitis, and pneumonia.
- Skin infections.
- Fungal infections.
- H. pylori infection (with other medicines).
- Middle ear infections in children (otitis media).
How to use Clarexin:
- Take this medication as directed by your doctor.
- Dosages depend on the site of infection and the severity of the infection.
- The usual dose is 500 mg every 12 hours.
- Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more medicine than you should, talk to your doctor or go to hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.
Do not take clarithromycin:
- If you are allergic to the active ingredients, the macrolide group or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- If you are taking any of the following drugs: cisapride, pimozide, astemizole, terfenadine, ergotamine or dihydroergotamine, lomitapide, simvastatin or lovastatin.
- If you are taking colchicine and have kidney or liver disease.
- If you have an irregular heartbeat called long QT interval.

- If you suffer from liver and/or kidney disease.
- If you have any heart problems.
- If you have low levels of potassium or magnesium.
