An antibiotic belonging to a group of medicines called penicillins. Amoxicillin (Klavox 156 mg) fights bacteria in the body.
Potassium clavulanate is a form of clavulanic acid (Klavox 156 mg), which is similar to penicillin. Potassium clavulanate fights bacteria that are often resistant to penicillin and other antibiotics.
The combination of amoxicillin (Klavox 156 mg) and potassium clavulanate is used to treat many different infections caused by bacteria, such as sinusitis, pneumonia, ear infections, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, and skin infections.
Klavox 156 mg-600 is indicated for treating children with recurrent or persistent acute middle ear infection caused by S. pneumoniae (including beta-lactamase producing strains) characterized by the following risk factors:
Exposure to antibiotics for acute middle ear infection during the previous three months, and any of the following:
Age ≤ 2 years
Or nursery age
Prepare the suspension at the time of use as follows:
Press the bottle until the powder flows freely.
Add about two-thirds of the total amount of water for reconstitution and shake vigorously to suspend the powder.
Add the remaining water and shake vigorously again.
Each teaspoon (5 ml) will contain 600 mg of amoxicillin (Klavox 156 mg) as trihydrate and 42.9 mg of clavulanic acid (Klavox 156 mg) as potassium salt.
Recommended dose:
To reduce the likelihood of digestive intolerance, Klavox 156 mg-600 should be taken at the beginning of a meal.
Absorption of potassium clavulanate can be enhanced when Klavox 156 mg-600 is taken at the beginning of a meal.
