Uvamin Retard 100 mg 20 Capsules :

Nitrofurantoin 100 mg capsules

Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic.

It is used to prevent and treat infections of the bladder, kidneys, and other parts of the urinary tract.

Do not take Nitrofurantoin:

If you are allergic to nitrofurantoin or other medicines containing nitrofurantoin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

If you have kidney disease.

If you are in the late stages of pregnancy where there is a risk it may affect the baby.

If you suffer from a blood disorder called porphyria.

If you have a deficiency of an enzyme called G6PD (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase).

If your child is less than three months old.

Warnings and Precautions:

Talk to your doctor before taking nitrofurantoin.

If you have diabetes.

If you suffer from any illness causing severe weakness.

If you have anemia, vitamin B deficiency, or abnormal salt levels in your blood (your doctor will be able to advise you).

If you have a history of allergies.

If you have any kidney problems.

If you lack an enzyme (a chemical in the body) called glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase.

If you have any disease of the lungs, liver, or nervous system.

Possible Side Effects:

Diarrhea
Nausea
Dizziness
