Zinopril 5 mg 28 Tablets:

Zinopril 5 mg lowers blood pressure and protects against complications of high blood pressure. 28 tablets.

Zinopril 5 mg tablets belong to blood pressure lowering medicines.

Zinopril belongs to the group of "angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors," a class of medicines mainly used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. It works by causing relaxation and widening of blood vessels as well as reducing blood volume, which leads to lower blood pressure and reduced oxygen consumption by the heart. Additionally, Xenopril prevents the conversion of angiotensin 1 to angiotensin 2 and stops the breakdown of vasodilating prostaglandins, which reduces the narrowing of blood vessels regulated by angiotensin 2 and promotes vessel widening.

Medical uses:

Treatment of high blood pressure: High blood pressure is a common condition where the force on the walls of the arteries is high enough to eventually cause health problems, such as heart diseases.

Treatment of heart failure (when the heart is not strong enough to work properly and pump blood throughout the body) if you have recently had a heart attack.

Treatment of kidney problems caused by type 2 diabetes in patients with high blood pressure.

How to use:

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor told you. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure about the dose.

The tablet should be swallowed with water.

Try to take your tablets at the same time every day. It does not matter if you take it before or after food.

Continue taking the medicine as long as your doctor tells you; it is a long-term treatment.

For high blood pressure: The recommended starting dose is 10 mg once a day. The usual long-term dose is 20 mg once a day.

For heart failure: The recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg once a day. The long-term dose ranges from 5 to 35 mg once a day.

After a heart attack: The recommended starting dose is 5 mg within 24 hours of the heart attack and 5 mg after one day. The usual long-term dose is 10 mg once a day.

For kidney problems caused by diabetes: The recommended dose is either 10 mg or 20 mg once a day.

If you are elderly, have kidney problems, or take diuretic medicines, your doctor may give you a lower dose than usual.

This medicine is not recommended for children under 6 years old or any children with severe kidney problems.

The doctor will determine the correct dose for your child, and the dose depends on the child's body weight.

For children weighing between 20 kg and 50 kg, the recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg once a day.

For children weighing more than 50 kg, the recommended starting dose is 5 mg once a day.

Doses may be changed in special conditions, so always follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s instructions.

If you take more than you should, talk to your doctor or go to the hospital immediately.

If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is time for the next dose.

Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.
