Klacid 125 mg suspension 60 ml:

• Clarithromycin belongs to a class of medications called macrolide antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
• Clarithromycin prevents bacteria from multiplying by acting as an inhibitor of protein synthesis.

Clarithromycin uses:

• Throat infections (pharyngitis/tonsillitis).
• Respiratory infections: sinus infections, bronchitis, and pneumonia.
• Skin infections.
• Fungal infections.
• H. pylori infection (with other medicines).
• Middle ear infections in children (otitis media).

How to use Clarexin:

• Take this medication as directed by your doctor.
• Dosages depend on the site of infection and the severity of the infection.
• The usual dose is 500 mg every 12 hours.
• Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
• If you take more medicine than you should, talk to your doctor or go to hospital straight away.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
• Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.

Do not take clarithromycin:

• If you are allergic to the active ingredients, the macrolide group or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
• If you are taking any of the following drugs: cisapride, pimozide, astemizole, terfenadine, ergotamine or dihydroergotamine, lomitapide, simvastatin or lovastatin.
• If you are taking colchicine and have kidney or liver disease.
• If you have an irregular heartbeat called long QT interval.
